vPorter Airlines
Terms of Service

As a prospective pilot and member of vPorter Airlines, I hereby declare and agree that...

1. I am at least 14 years of age. Federal law in the United States of America prohibits any website from disclosing, in any form, personal information of a minor under 13 years of age. As a Canadian-based website and virtual airline, vPorter Airlines acts in accordance with all terms defined in the Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA) as introduced by the Government of the United States of America . Due to the fact that vPorter Airlines discloses our member's names on our pilot roster, we cannot allow minors under 13 to become pilots for our virtual airline.

2. I own a legal copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight, or Microsoft Flight Simulator X. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 and earlier versions, along with any other flight simulation software, are not officially supported by vPorter Airlines.

3. I will provide and maintain a valid e-mail address to be eligible for membership. I acknowledge that if at any time, I cannot be reached via e-mail for reasons including, but not limited to a full or non-existent mailbox, my membership at vPorter Airlines will be terminated without warning. I understand that a valid e-mail address is required to activate my account.

4. I have read, understand and agree to abide by the vPorter Airlines Standard Operating Procedures and Privacy Policy.

5. I acknowledge and understand that I have 14 days from the date my account is activated to fly my first flight with vPorter Airlines. I understand that I have a period of 72 hours to activate my account from the time an e-mail is sent out from the vPorter Airlines server. Failure to adhere to both these conditions will result in my account being terminated without warning. I understand that my application can be invalidated by the vPorter Airlines Human Resources Department for any reason without notice.

6. I understand that flight hours on Dash 8 aircraft flown with other virtual airlines are accepted, up to a maximum of thirty (30) flight hours credited to my account, provided that I provide a valid link to my previous virtual airline so that these hours can be verified. Failure to provide a valid link will result in my forfeiting any potential transfer of flight hours to my account.

7. I will conduct myself with the utmost professionalism, integrity, and respect towards all members, staff, supervisors, and management at vPorter Airlines, our partner virtual airlines, the VATSIM network, and the entire flight simulator community at all times. I understand that if at any time I conduct myself in a manner that could negatively affect the professional image and reputation of vPorter Airlines or any of it's members or staff, my account and membership at vPorter Airlines can be suspended or terminated for any length of time. vPorter Airlines reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or refuse membership to any member for any reason.

8. I will not provide false information about myself to any member of vPorter Airlines, on my application, or on the Pilot Forums at any time, and I understand that if it is discovered that I have done so, my membership can and will be immediately suspended or terminated without notice. I understand that only full names are accepted by vPorter Airlines, and that nicknames or aliases are not allowed.

9. I allow vPorter Airlines and it's staff to communicate with me via my valid, registered e-mail address for any reason. This may include general communication, policy changes, delivery of the Newsletter, event announcements, or any other correspondence. I understand that vPorter Airlines does not participate in sending any form of SPAM, and that any member found doing so is in violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethics, and the account of the member in question will be terminated immediately without warning.

10. All vPorter pilots are required to register on the vPorter Forums. vPorter encourages forum usernames to be formatted as "FirstName LastName". Example: A pilot whose name is John Smith would signup on the forum as John Smith. If the usernemr is not formatted as "FirstName LastName," then the First and Last name of the user must be placed in their signature.

NOTE: All pilots must file one flight report every thirty (30) days. Our shortest flights are as little as 30 minutes in duration; we feel that pilots should be able to spare at least 30 minutes each month in order to keep their membership. Inactive accounts waste server space and bandwidth; this is why this rule is enforced.

If for any reason you are unable to comply with this requirement, you may put your account under a Leave of Absence (LOA) from the Account Management page. To remove the LOA, simply assign a flight to your account. Please note that while LOA's are not limited or restricted, staff members reserve the right to ask the reason for an LOA if you have been on leave for an extended period of time.

If your account is deleted and you wish to re-join, you are more than welcome to do so. But please note that the server will have deleted your logbook and all records of your account.

I acknowledge and understand that by clicking the "I Agree" link to continue to the next page, that I agree to adhere to all the terms mentioned above. I understand that these terms are subject to change without notice, and when terms are changed, I agree to read and adhere to any modifications posted on the website in the future.
