Service begins March 31

TORONTO/January 27, 2010 – Porter Airlines is introducing year-round flights between Sudbury and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, beginning March 31, with one daily non-stop roundtrip flight, and one-way fares starting at $99, plus taxes. Flights are now available for booking on www.flyporter.com, by calling 1-888-619-8622 or contacting a travel agent. Porter is the only carrier offering service between these two airports.

“Porter is pleased to expand our service to Sudbury, providing competition on the route, which ultimately benefits customers by reducing fares,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “Northern Ontario is an important region for us. We are experiencing great success in Thunder Bay, and are looking forward to a similar result in Sudbury.”

Sudbury is the second city in Northern Ontario to experience the airline’s unique premium short-haul air travel experience, focused on speed, convenience and service. Connecting flights also provide numerous travel options within Porter’s growing network. By flying through Porter’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport base, travellers can continue on to popular destinations including Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, New York, Boston, and Chicago.

“We are very excited that Porter Airlines has chosen the Greater Sudbury Airport as the newest addition to their network,” said Bob Johnston, CEO of Greater Sudbury Airport. “In a few short years, Porter has established itself as a leader in the air travel industry and a quality service provider.

“The economic benefits to the Greater Sudbury Airport and the community at large will be significant and far reaching. We look forward to a successful launch in the upcoming months and building a prosperous, long term relationship with Porter Airlines in the years to come.”

Located minutes from the city’s downtown business and tourism districts, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport provides unrivalled urban accessibility. Passengers can travel between the airport and the heart of downtown in only a few minutes. Complimentary Porter shuttle buses offer a short transfer to the city centre.
